Discoveries

No new objects yet

Recovering a known body or fitting an unknown candidate is not a discovery. New objects are listed here only after a human review and MPC acceptance.

The bar for a discovery

  1. Multi-night linkage with a credible orbit and consistent photometry.
  2. Non-detection test on other covered nights.
  3. JPL / MPC cross-check, allowing for uncertain catalogue orbits.
  4. Image inspection of the linked detections.
  5. MPC acceptance as a new object before a discovery is listed here.
